Bioidentical Hormone Doctors: Find a Doctor Here
Not all doctors who use natural hormones use them the way Dr. Lee recommended. Please avoid doctors who use mega-doses of hormones--you'll just create new hormone imbalances. Also, avoid doctors who think it's a good idea to have menopausal women menstruating again--this is not a safe practice.
One of the best sources of information for finding a doctor in your area is your local compounding pharmacist:
Compounding Pharmacists
Compounding pharmacists make individualized medications, including natural hormones and many of them work with doctors who use natural hormones. In fact, many compounding pharmacists are more educated than the doctors they work with about how to best use natural hormones, and can help educate and guide a doctor who is unsure. For a referral in your area contact IACP (International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists), (800) 927-4227 or go online to www.iacprx.org and plug in your zip code.
Other Resources
Your local health food store can be another good source of info on doctors and other health care professionals who are familiar with natural hormones. You can also look in your yellow pages under "physicians." Those who practice alternative medicine often advertise themselves as wholistic or holistic physicians.
In addition, go to the websites of the following organizations that support alternative and wholistic medicine. All of these sites offer directories of healthcare providers. Not all of these providers work with natural hormones, but many of them do.
